You the parent are looking for someone that you can fully trust (and you will find, someone you need to stick up for you on occasion). Geraldine is this person, and I know she is blushing reading this, but Geraldine is just wonderful.

As all parents out there, the last thing you want to see is your child struggling in an aspect of their development. At the age of 3, my son was diagnosed with a severe language disorder. Evidence shows that frequent early intervention is critical to helping your child, and as we bounced from assessment to assessment, it became quickly apparent to us that the help he needed had to be provided by us the parents. As we explored different options (and we explored them all), we were lucky to meet with Geraldine Hogan of Galway Speech & language therapy.
Geraldine is a dedicated professional that is top of her profession. The way Geraldine adopted to current COVID-19 restrictions; shows how she continues to find a way to help those in her care. And the results speak for themselves. That little boy Geraldine met at 3 years had no means of communication, was hiding away from his peers, knowing he could not engage with them. Step by step, Geraldine gave him the tools he needed. Sound by Sound, word by word, session by session. Geraldine used all her experience to guide that little boy along a very difficult path, enabling him with new skills at every challenge.
This little boy turned 7 last week and that 3-year-old with a severe language disorder is now a remarkable little boy who can chat away with his peers and adults alike. We are still fine tuning of course, but I am no longer the parent that other parents look at when my child speaks, looking for me to translate whatever little story has bubbled up. Thankfully, this is no more, he has his own voice, and we will be forever indebted to Geraldine for this.

Our son Caleb began working with Geraldine about 2 yrs ago . Our son is on the autism spectrum and suffered with speech delay as part of this .

My son now 4 years, old almost 5, has been doing speech and language sessions with Geraldine for the last year both face to face and through Zoom.
Although he has plenty of words, but as he has Autism and ADHD, he spoke a lot in the third person and was not communicating properly with others. He also had trouble understanding others and was not a happy child.

Our son Rian (age 8) has been attending speech and language with Geraldine for 3 years now. I found that she just got him from day one. Rian was happy to stay working with her , they just clicked!
Geraldine has brought him on leaps and bounds. When he first started, he would have had 2 to 3 word sentences and very poor comprehension. Now he's having full conversations and his comprehension is so much better.

We have recently switched the format of the sessions to zoom calls because of Covid and Rian loves them.
